Ald. Margaret Laurino of the 39th Ward has suggested a law banning cyclists from using their cell phones while riding in the city, reported WBEZ 91.5.
The ordinance, if passed, a first offense could get the cyclist a $50 ticket. If the distracted bike rider causes an accident, that could mean fines of up to $500, according to the story.
